Woman, 32, arrested on suspicion of murdering aerospace specialist

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a university aerospace specialist was found dead at his home in mysterious circumstances.

Police discovered the body of Dr Minguk Seo, 31, after being called to an address in Countess Way, Broughton, Milton Keynes on January 25.

Investigators immediately treated his death as suspicious and have arrested a 32-year-old woman on suspicion of killing him.

However a Thames Valley Police spokesperson said on Friday that an initial post mortem examination has failed to find a cause of death.

Detectives are continuing to work with the coroner to establish how he died, in a case one officer described as ‘very complex’ – while urging members of the public not to ‘speculate’.

Dr Seo was an aerospace research specialist at Cranfield University, Bedford, where he had been working for almost five years.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown, of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: ‘This is a very complex investigation and we are working with HM Coroner to establish the cause of death of Dr Seo.

‘I would like to reassure the public that we are thoroughly investigating the circumstances and there is no wider threat to the local community.

‘Although we have made an arrest in connection with this incident, at this stage, this is still being treated as an unexplained death and speculation is both unhelpful and could also be distressing for Dr Seo’s family, who have been made aware and are being supported at this very difficult time.’

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson added: ‘We have launched an investigation following an unexplained death of a man in Milton Keynes.

‘Officers were called to an address in Countess Way, Broughton and found a man deceased at the scene.
