The Hollywood Walk of Fame in is one of the world’s most famous tourist attractions – but according to a new study, it’s also the worst.
The landmark, which honours notable personalities in the entertainment industry with five-pointed stars embedded mainly in the Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk, has come 99th in a ranking of the 99 best and worst major tourist attractions.
The study crowns the Hungarian Parliament Building in Budapest the world’s best tourist attraction, Disneyland Paris comes second, the Blue Lagoon in Iceland t third and Plaza de Espana in Seville, , comes fourth.
The ranking has been produced by data analysts at luggage storage network Stasher, who scored each attraction out of ten using reviews, reviews, Booking.com’s average user rating for properties within one mile of the attraction’s circumference, the distance from the nearest airport and tourist safety, using the host country’s Global Peace Index rating.
The Hungarian Parliament Building scores 7.34 out of 10, with the researchers noting that 93.4 per cent of its Tripadvisor reviews are ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’, and the building has been viewed on TikTok an incredible 887million times – and counting.
