I learned to be deliberate about my gratitude, writing it down. Keeping a written list of everything in my life for which was grateful forced me to focus more on the positives and less on the negatives.
Some drugs are so powerful that the person using them can be addicted in just one use. Some that try heroin are hopelessly addicted from just one session of using the drug. This addiction is one of the hardest to overcome, which means the person usually relapses time and time again before they can truly get their lives back. This ends up with a lot of time in addiction treatment and a lot of pain for those that love the addict. Do not give up on someone if they relapse a few times and do not allow them to give up on themselves.
The letter «C» stands for Commitment. Finally…once and for all…dive right into it…get Committed to your Miracle! It’s your responsibility. Inside you is a reason for why you are here…your Miracle…so Commit to it. Go for it!
Our own best thinking got us throw into a drug addiction or alcoholism treatment facility; clearly we do not always have the best ideas. On call counseling, though, is our filter–rather than relying on our own well-intentioned-but-faulty thinking, we have someone else who is experienced enough to recognize a bad idea whenever it pops up.

Keep in mind that your son or daughter is in A Renewed Mind very dangerous position. Deaths from drug overdoses or deadly combinations of drugs is all too common. Simple experimentation can be deadly. This means that it is imperative that you act as soon as possible to help the user come the realization that rapid help is essential.
