Anhidrosis is caused by malfunctioning sweat glands, and there are various potential causes. Kids born with it do not develop sweat glands at all, or develop very few of them. Nerve harm is one other perpetrator. Diabetes, for example, can harm the nerves that control the sweat glands, and so can skin diseases like psoriasis. Different potentialities: sure medications and genetic disorders comparable to hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (see sidebar).
