Have you ever considered shopping for your snow tires online? Things have really changed since the last time you looked for tires. Most likely you went down to the local tire shop and just purchased whatever snow tires they had in stock. That can be pretty convenient, but you most likely over paid by at least $50 -$100 for that convenience. I’m not knocking your local tire shop, but there is no doubt about the fact that the entire market as well as the economy has changed drastically the last few years. For most people, every nickel counts.
Note that I said «may» rather than «definitely would.» This is because you may have found what is legitimately a great deal. But when buying anything it is important to bear in mind the words «caveat emptor.» For those who escaped the classics in school, this essentially means «Let the buyer beware.» This adage applies in every case where you are being asked to shell out hard earned money, but it especially applies when buying anything that is used.
I’m not saying this is a common problem but I’m of the opinion if there is a small chance of this then I’d rather pay a little extra money from a well-known tire shop with branded tires.
There are two types of honda of cleveland tn. Literally those that are used that someone no longer wanted because they bought new ones. These are usually the worst option and should only be considered as a means to an end until your next payday. (Of course, if they are in really good shape because someone just changed the wheel size on their vehicle during a customization, then you might use them for many miles without trouble). Retreaded ones are a better option than just simply used ones. A retread shop retreads and sells some that are almost as good as new ones for a fraction of the price.
If you do decide to purchase online, confirm the size and type of tire. There’s nothing worse than ordering a set of tires only to find out they’re the wrong size or type.
One tire tip would be to only use snow tires during the winter. These tires are designed in such a way that they provide too much traction for ordinary use. They will make it more difficult for your car to run and increase your gas mileage in the process. In the same way, you should try to buy tires with as little traction as possible without making it unsafe for you to drive.
I have a friend who saved big bucks by ordering online for his Vette. The more expensive the tire you’re shopping for, the more money you can save by purchasing online. If you just need cheap tires for a daily driver that you’re not going to keep very long, then by all means you should shop locally for the best price. There’s no sense in trying to buy a cheap set online. The shipping kills the deal.
The first thing you will find when shopping for tires online is the selection. Most if not all internet dealers offer a huge selection of tires. Much more of a selection then you will normally find at your local dealer. Most online dealers are the actual distributors and because they work on much higher volumes are able to carry many more lines.
